My pal Ian alerted me to a really cool feature in TweetDeck, the ability to see who is favoriting your tweets, and which tweets they are favoriting. To the left is a screenshot of how this shows up in your Mentions column.
You might have to turn this feature on to see it, if so, click on Settings, then Twitter, then click on Enable Realtime Twitter Streaming, then click the option for Show in Mentions When People Favorite Your Tweets. That’s it!
Why is this cool? Because it tells me WHO is favoriting my tweets, and WHAT they are favoriting. This gives me a great idea of which type of content I am creating that’s resonating with my followers. Which means I can share more useful content with my followers, which means I will hopefully get MORE followers, and maybe more RTs of my content, when I share it.
Are you managing and tracking who is favoriting your tweets? If so, what tool are you using to do this, is it TweetDeck, or something else?
Gini Dietrich says
You have to have the real-time turned on for it to work? I’ll test it out and then turn it off again. Thanks for the tip!

Hey Gini! Turning on real-time was the only way I could get it to work. I also noticed that when I did I started seeing when people added me to their lists in the New Followers column.

For folks who aren’t using Tweetdeck, Favstar.fm is another great tool for seeing which of your tweets are being “favorited,” by whom, and how frequently.
Ben Marvin says
This is stupid. Just use Favstar. See favs and retweets, near realtime. Actually using tweetdeck for this would become more annoying than useful. Especially if you get a large amount of favorites.
Mack Collier says
I always chuckle when someone attempts to start a comment with ‘This is stupid’ 😉
Ben I am already using Tweetdeck, so why would I want to use ANOTHER site just to see my favs? Wouldn’t it be more efficient to add that functionality to the tool I am already using and enjoying?
Fernando says
Ben, favstar is the most inacurate thing ever created to measure twitter. It not only is uncapable to track the favorites correctly, but also is unable to track the retweets accurately. Just compare the Favstar results to your actual twitter profile… really sad… but is more stupid to use favstar, sorry pal!

Great tip Mack, thanks. FYI you need to be on ver .37 of the tweetdeck desktop version to see that option
Mack Collier says
Joel I am getting it on ver 0.36.2. Ian told me he has ver 36.1.
Joel Capperella says
hmmm – I didn’t see it until I put .37 on. Regardless great tip I never would have found it. thanks again. (and hey that instant RSS share of the latest post is pretty cool also – is that a plugin? – I’ve been using Disquss for comments)
Mack Collier says
Joel you’ve lost me, what is the Instant RSS share of the latest post thingie you are talking about? Maybe it was added by a plugin I installed? Where are you seeing this?
Joel Capperella says
when I commented the first time there is this little check box beneath the submit button it looks as though it took my blog URL (when I entered the website) and pulled the latest headline from my blog. if you look at my first comment it has at the bottom “Joel Capperella’s last blog” with a link that that post. I just found that pretty cool I’d not seen it before.
Mack Collier says
Oh Joel you are talking about the Comment Luv plugin, I believe. Whenever you leave a comment it pulls a link to your latest blog post. Great way to thank your readers for commenting 😉

TweetDeck really has some cool features. As of now, I have been using http://timelinetweets.com. A clean and simple UI and most importantly, apart from tracking Favorites by me, I can also track all my retweets. I someone got addicted to this website.. LoL 🙂
