It’s that time again! Once a month we review the blogs from 3 participants during #Blogchat, and we’ll be doing it again this Sunday! The idea is that you get a ‘fresh set of eyes’ to look at your blog and give you some ideas and pointers on what you’re doing.
So if you’ve just launched your blog, and maybe you want some feedback on the visual look of it, we could help you! Or if you want some advice on the type of content you are creating, etc, let us know! If you want your blog to be considered for one of the THREE review slots at the next #Blogchat then leave a comment to this post giving us the URL of your blog, and exactly what you are concerned with and the areas you want feedback on. If you want to know what everyone thinks of the information on your sidebars, let us know that. If you want to know what you should be writing about, tell us who you are trying to connect with. If you want feedback on your post titles, let us know.
Again, if you want to have your blog be eligible for being reviewed, please LEAVE A COMMENT to this post and please give us as much information as possible about what we should be looking at on your blog. Please don’t just say ‘I would like to have my blog reviewed, thanks!” Give us 2-3 things we should be giving you advice on, and please tell us WHO you are writing your blog for, and what its focus is.
That’s it! I’ll select the 3 blogs that will be reviewed and have that post up by Saturday. Good luck!

Hi Mack! I’d love for my blog to be considered for review. You can find it at http://christinegeraci.wordpress.com. This blog started out as merely a professional presence for me online, but it seems to be morphing into my thoughts on social media as it pertains to my work. I’d love feedback on the content itself, as well as some of the features I’ve included as a result of recently changing WordPress themes: the Links I’m learning from section and the Featured Posts section in particular. I’m very new to the blogging world but I’m learning so much from participating in #blogchat when I can. Thanks so much for the consideration!

Hi Mack! I’m just about to launch my blog next month. I’d be really happy if you can consider
reviewing my blog. You can find it @ http://www.freeeloadingbusiness.info. My blog is about how to start up their own retailing business. I would like to ask for some tips on how I can improve my guidelines. Thank you in advance!

I would very much appreciate any feed back on my new blog http://www.allenlarose.com. It started as simply an online place for me to express myself. I have quickly discovered blogging is addictive. I have been using social media to help drive traffic to my blog, but would any advice to help boost traffic further.

Would love ideas on what I need to be doing to build more consistent traffic? I feel like I’ve done a good job of providing consistent content almost daily, but my reach is still very low.

Mack,
I have a brand new blog: http://www.cjwestkills.wordpress.com. My goal is to reach out to new readers and sell electronic books, thereby converting new visitors into loyal fans. My secondary goal is to collect contacts so I can let readers know when I release a new book.
My blog is structured to open like a scene from one of my novels and demonstrate my abililty to write a compelling book. The hope is that the scene links well into the premise of the novel and entices readers to click to learn more. I have been cautioned that this initial post reveals nothing about me personally and may not endear me to readers.
I am interested in your feedback on the structure and content of the initial post and the layout of the page itself.
Thank you for considering me.

Mine is http://crappypictures.typepad.com/crappy-pictures/ and I’d love to get feedback on design, the general visual. It is simple. Really simple. Perhaps that is okay for what I’m writing? Also titles. I have a hard time conveying humor in the titles. My audience is parents of young children who have a sense of humor. It is a parenting humor blog.

My blog is http://www.WorkingNaked.com (a work-from-home site). My traffic is very high one day and mediocre the next. I’d like feedback on headline titles, my opt-in form and the topics I’m covering. Also, any ideas to build more traffic. My audience is home-based business owners and home-based corporate employees. Thank you for considering my site.

I would love to have my blogged reviewed. I blog primarily about social media and it’s use in HR and recruiting. It would be great to gain your perspective on the overall look and “feel” and also the content and if it applies to a broad enough audience (and if broad is good or bad). Thanks!

Hi Mack,
I recently started a sports and adventure blog at http://SportingTheSmallStuff.com and I would greatly appreciate suggestions on how I can better engage the audience (I would love to interact with fitness/adventure-minded individuals). I would also appreciate suggestions for writing more effective titles (both from an engagement standpoint and an SEO standpoint).
Thank you for this opportunity!

Hi, Mack…
My blog is Patrick’s Place, and the URL is http://www.patrickkphillips.com. I’d love any suggestions on layout and content. I have made some recent adjustments involving social media and SEO, and I’d like to get a general sense from readers about what they like and what they don’t, and what would most make them come back for more. My blog isn’t necessarily one specific niche, but I’ve tried multiple single-topic blogs and it was a disaster, so I’m trying to make this one blog the best that it can be.
Thanks for the consideration and I’ll see you at #Blogchat this Sunday.

Hi Mack, I am so waiting for this. Thank you for the opportunity.
You see, I may be the odd-man here as my blog is running on the Google Blogger platform. So I need help to have it diagnosed on the following areas:
1. Performance. They say that Blogger has limited bandwidth and obviously I am not able to test this without massive traffic.
2. Relevance. My blog is all about blogging targeted to educate pre-bloggers and newbies. So with bloggers joining at #blogchat, I could get their perspective if my contents are at par with beginners level.
3. Readability. This has always been a challenge for me so I tweaked my blog design to as much as I could consider it as “readable.” With diversified audience, I may be able to see different points of view whether my color combinations are off, or my font sizes are small, etc.
My blog just went live last May 2011, and so far it’s been picking up quite well to date and I know there are still a lot of room for improvement. I am anticipating a lot of people saying that I should switch to WordPress soon because of certain limitations. So far my main concerns with these limitations are “real ownership” of my blog and performance which has not been tested yet. Whatever the outcome of this review, it will be a deciding factor for me if I should stay or should I go away from Google Blogger and move to WordPress.
Thank you for your consideration and all the best!

Hi Mack,
I come from a non-technical background and in the past six years, I’ve found myself in the midst of a crash-course of rotating apparatus issues. I started WATTS NEW (www.lselectric.com/wordpress) in the hopes of providing technical content that’s relevant to our target audience and transforming my hopes into a reality of being able to transform our whole site (corporate site and blog) into an excellent technical reference.
What I’d to know is if I’m walking down the correct path: am I providing timely, relevant information to our target audience: manufacturing, engineers of both hydro and power systems backgrounds, maintenance, etc.
Also, are my posts long enough? Do I rely too heavily on the information I’m linking to? Am I posting too frequently?
Thank you for the opportunity,
Dave Manney

Going to do my best to attend this #blogchat. For those reading this comment, I owe mack collier & the #Blogchat’ers a follow up blog post. I was super lucky to be one of the 3 who’s blog was reviewed a few months ago. I made a ton of changes based on the suggestions. Working on a before/after post.
One thing to consider if you choose to submit your blog for review: Get ready to be inundated (in a good way) with suggestions – some good, some great, some simply opinion. Take them all in. Favorite the tweets that you really like and come back to them later. You’ll never catch them all during the chat.
Do it!
